The Chainsaw man may take the cake for the biggest new anime series to arrive in 2022, as the Tatsuki Fujimoto anime adaptation sent shock waves through the animation world via its first episode. With Denji’s tragic story introducing viewers to a terrifying world fit for exploding with demons, a cosplayer overturns the script when it comes to the Chainsaw Devil as Studio MAPPA’s animated series progresses into a busy fall season. A chainsaw woman is not introduced but anything cosplay can happen.
Denji was not living a high-ranking life before becoming a demon himself, as he joined forces with the saw demon, Pochita, to hunt supernatural beings in order to earn enough money to stop the Yakuza from killing him. Unfortunately, Denji is betrayed by the mafia lords, as criminals make a deal with Zombie Devil to gain superpowers, at a terrible price. With Denji and Pochita both stabbed and torn apart by gangsters, a deal is struck in which the Chainsaw Devil fuses with the human, bringing life to protagonist Shonen who has taken the world by storm and made his way through countless demons.
Ann Yuri Cosplay provided Instagram with a gender-inverted look at the Chainsaw Demon, featuring Denji in his first, but not the last, transformation after merging with his beloved dog that not only saved his life, but gave him the chance to forge a new path where his meager dreams might come true:
